A group of us sort of bonded together and it was so great to be in a group- everyone looked out for each other despite being total strangers and it was good to have each others company, especially in the evenings at the hotel (very nice of Germanwings actually!).
There were a few points of hysteria when all we could do was laugh. In the end we opted to get a train because we couldn't trust that our flight scheduled for 7pm Sunday would go. So off we went early the Sunday morning for the trek to Paris. The 'fun' did not end though. The whole Eurostar situation was just horrendously chaotic. We breathed a sigh of relief when we 'landed' in London. What a surreal weekend. I could just cry with relief. I should add I could not draw out enough money for the train at once- so one of the women lent me a bit of money. Little things like this I see as God looking out for me. He didn't magic me back but he put people there to follow when I didn't know where to go, carry my suitcase when it kept capsizing, or to talk kind sense to me when I wanted to jump in a car and drive home!
I was really really sad about the Southampton thing but I was grateful just to be back, and I had a really nice day or so in London with friends from there.
We also just lazed about inside and watched TV, including 'The Nativity' on the BBC. It was the most real portrayal I have ever seen of how Jesus came to this world. It is not just a 'nice' story!
I arrived back in Kassel today. There is a pretty big contrast in temperature to Cornwall! I'm super tired because I 'slept' at the airport last night so looking forward to catching up on sleep before I get stuck in here.
We're organising a New Year party for the teenies so pray for us to be inspired with creative ideas as we organise stuff in more detail!
Glad your trip back was less eventful. Happy New Year and God Bless you and all the folk there in your church.Love Mum x
